Celebrations
How did it already get to the last week of February? Although I am not entirely sure, I am one year older still. I have always loved celebrating. I love celebrating the little things and the big things equally. This year, I want to remember how I was loved and that I caught glimpse of the future.
The Girls planned a Bluey birthday party for Juliette and I was glad to oblige. One I had a lot of fun shopping their list but I really enjoyed watching them work together the most.
My sweet girls worked together to bring this sweet breakfast platter to life for me and it made my heart swell with gratitude. Then we put on our dresses and headed to a philharmonic concert followed by lunch at Grist. This is where my heart caught in my throat and we vowed to have birthday lunches for ever and ever. I know that there won’t be tears later over the chips that accompany the sandwich and their taste buds will change in seven years, but I hope that their heart for celebrating life will never wane.
The celebrations continued as we celebrated our sweet Josh and loved on him with all our might. I have always claimed the whole month for my birthday. But I love that I get to share it with Josh. The girls spoiled him with breakfast in bed too. I pray that as a family we will always see the blessing of taking time to celebrate each other and take time to bless each other with our presence. And then came Valentine’s day and we just love to spoil the kiddos together with Valentine donuts and lovely little gifts. Check out the Valentine’s day post here.
Compilations
This year I have been taking time to practice poetry writing. A compilation of daily poems, a mini examen at the end of the day. Although, I am so excited to share them with you, I am also taking time to decipher when and where to share them. you can find a bulk of the JANUARY ones on my IG. But Today I am excited to share this one.
Parched
The cracks have become fissures
Deep and dry
My soul feels Brittle
Dusty and fried
This feels long and far from refreshment
I long for the cool rains
My soul pants and and can’t sing
Longing for the the life giving spring
Come, You say
I will give you rest
Come, my way
I have water to quench your thirst
Can you perceive it?
The life that I am growing
Is alive now
Below the surface it stirs even without you knowing
So don’t give up
Don’t give in to despair
Cling to me in prayer
I will hold you up
Tell me your hearts deepest requests
I will never leave alone in this test
You can trust that I will not change my mind
I will draw near and never leave you behind
Their arms I send to you palpably
When they embrace you feel me
They will hold you up through me
They are the gifts In which I have sent Me
You, my dear one
Will be renewed on the vine
Your fruit will be fresh and fragrant
You will be no longer parched

Cravings
What are you craving? I have been asking myself this question recently. What comes up is a flurry of thoughts. I can name one after the other but then quickly realize that they point in the same direction, Jesus. I pray that this lent season we find the stillness we crave so that we can hear his voice as he beckons us come. What have you been craving? I would love to know and help you pray for contentment and satisfaction. Hit reply and let me know.
