Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday
Oh Wonder of Wonders The praise erupted A loud and jovial thunder He though- meek sat still On a colt humble beholding Their hearts wanting salvation Salvation is here but they don’t behold it Save us now Hosannah! -Daisy Fuentes Dronen
This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”
The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them.
Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” ‘
Matthew 21:4-9
San Mateo 21:4-9
Breath Prayer
Breath prayer is prayer that is like the breathing of our soul. As we practice breath prayer we inhale and exhale the Spirit of God with one phrase to pray.
No we offer up our hearts in prayer:
Inhale: Hosanna Jesus
Exhale: Save us now
Inhala: Hosanna Jesus!
Exhala: Sálvanos ahora
Holy Monday/ Lunes Santo
Scripture:
‘And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.” And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. ‘
Matthew 21:12-14
San Mateo 21:12-14
Reflection/ Reflexión
As Jesus entered the temple, He could not leave things as they were. The temple had been desecrated by how people treated one another and how it had become a place for personal gain rather than for worship. Jesus calls us to live a life in which we do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with Him (Micah 6:8).
The temple needed to be purified again—but what about the temple of the Holy Spirit? Could it be that we, too, need the purification that only Jesus’ blood can provide? In these same verses, after Jesus cleansed the temple, the blind and the lame came to Him there, and He healed them.
Jesus wants to purify us inside and out. His desire is for complete wholeness as He heals our souls and bodies. Do not wait—come to Him and accept His gift today.
He has drawn near and we are never the same again.
Gracefully,
Daisy
