Poetry is saving my life right now. Reading it helps me calm my nervous system but writing it is helping me rewire my brain to look for peace and beauty. So, I proposed that I would write a Haiku each day of 2026 and I have kept up the practice and I am so excited to give it a permanent home here. Sharing it with you is an honor.
“A poem begins with a lump in the throat; a homesickness or a love sickness. It is a reaching-out toward expression; an effort to find fulfillment. A complete poem is one where an emotion has found its thought, and the thought has found words!”
Robert Frost
January
I was hopeful for the beginning of this new year. I can say that I am still hopeful but wow, this year has already rocked me to the core. These lines of verse have given me a foothold, a grasp into the goodness of this one beautiful life.
Let’s go slow today
a new year, a new chance to
stay true and present

Something New Is Here
A new rhythm is beginning. I am so excited to share this project with you! I wanted a beautiful way to move the daily Haikus here. I found a way that feels delightful and just so beautiful!
I compiled the Haikus from these two month in a magazine format. It is just a fun way to keep them all together and I look forward to hearing from you what speaks to you.
February
February is my birth month and during it I find my self doing more personal reflection. This month I have spent time with my immigration story. I have found peace and energy in these verses, they have reminded me of my family’s bravery and resilience. I invite you on this journey and I am honored to share my heart and life as an immigrant with you. Getting through this journey will take longer than just one month especially since Feb is the shortest month. So, during the month of March I will continue this exploration in verse. I hope you join me.
Thank you again for your support, it truly is a gift. Like the picture above states: poetry is saving my life and I am glad to get to bring it to you.
Love what you’re reading? Come on in and join us for all the goodness!
Gracefully yours,
